about

Jordann Murray (b. 1995) is a multi and interdisciplinary artist living in Nova Scotia, Canada. Jordann’s visual and written work has recently been published in The Dalhousie Review, Commo Magazine, Lez Spread The Word, and Ephemera Magazine. In 2024 she released her debut experimental album, Tweety Bird on Bandcamp and between 2022 and 2024 she appeared on the Los Angeles-based internet radio station, FSR.Live as a contributor to the programme, Neighbouring Sounds.

Jordann’s artwork tends to focus on colour, shapes, and ordinary, everyday objects. Conceptually speaking, their paint, illustration, and sketch work draw newfound attention to the otherwise overlooked in modern domestic and rural settings. Their writing, is associative, auto-poetic, and exploratory – oftentimes employing memory, imagery, and the sensorial in abstract, re-enlivened ways. Her music and sound work combines unique arrangements of instrumentation and voice to intonate at the otherwise amorphous experiences of desire, sentimentality, nostalgia, and loss.

Jordann is partial to cats and can often be found by the ocean. She is currently open to commission work involving illustration and design.
