about

Jordann Murray is a multi- and interdisciplinary artist living in Nova Scotia, Canada
whose work covers a wide terrain that involves illustration, design, music, and free
verse writing. Jordann’s artwork and writing has recently been or will be published in
The Dalhousie Review, Commo Magazine, Lez Spread The Word, and Ephemera
Magazine. In 2024 she released her debut experimental album, Tweety Bird on
Bandcamp and between 2022 and 2024 she appeared on the Los Angeles-based
internet radio station, FSR.Live as a contributor to the programme, Neighbouring
Sounds.

Jordann’s artwork tends to focus on colour, shapes, and ordinary, everyday objects.
Conceptually speaking, their paint, illustration, and sketch work draws newfound
attention to the otherwise overlooked in modern domestic and rural settings. Their
writing, on the other hand, is associative, auto-poetic, and exploratory – oftentimes
employing memory, imagery, and the sensorial in abstract, albeit re-enlivened ways.
Finally, her music and sound work combines unique arrangements of instrumentation
and voice to intonate at the otherwise amorphous experiences of desire, sentimentality,
nostalgia, and loss.

Jordann is currently open to commission work involving illustration and design.
